FINALLY!!!New best.

It's been 4 long years of trying but today I finally got it. The conditions were less that ideal which makes this even more amazing.

11.94 @ 112.3 with a 1.59 60'.

I was teased the pass before with a 12.001 with a 1.58 (new best) 60'. I was thinking how could this be happening again. But to say I'm happy now would be an understatement.

The temp. was 61 degrees. Barometer was only 29.83 and 29 percent humidity.

Well the DA for that run was still +700 ft . My previous best was achieved in -1100 ft DA. I know you'd take that weather any day but I'd love to be able to race year round like you guys.

How do you find out what the DA is? As from day to day as it changes with the weather?

Congratulations on your new best. That is an awsome 60ft time.

Re: FINALLY!!!New best.

Thanks again for the replies. My previous best was a 12.01@113.5. That was almost 4 years ago. I had several opportunities to break into the 11s but something always went wrong. I was one of the folks who happened to be cursed with the obd1/high stall problem. On my 12.01 pass, my 60' was 1.67. On a few other occasions, the car pulled 1.64 short times only to have the transmission not shift. The last time I pulled a 1.64, it shifted just fine but my motor came apart around the 1/8 mile. No new bests that day. My new motor is still a stock shortblock. My old cam couldn't be reused so I had to go with the 846. Both cams had the same duration 222/230 but the 846 has slightly more lift (.543/.563)-vs-(.533/.544)

I got tired of dealing with the 4l60e issues and decided it was best that I switch to a 700r4. No more shift problems on the 1-2...but now I have to lift on the 2-3 just to get it to shift. Another reason I'm shocked I was able to get a new best. The driveablility sucks with this tranny and we can't seem to find out why it goes in and out of lockup at medium throttle. I'm currently making plans to go back to the 4l60e and hopefully the fix that has been found for the obd1 problem will work on my car.

I want to stick with my od tranny. 20+ mph highway is nice. The heads were done by ARE around 4 years ago. I'm sure there are far better heads being done these days but I guess these are ok. I don't have alot of mph which shows that I'm not making that much power but the combo is supposed to be emissions legal.
