Talking broke 12's tonight at HRP!

after about 4 runs, getting the pretty much same times. 13.02's-13.04 with 104.7-105.1 trap speeds. I was about to give up, but I went ahead to go make another run and this is what I ended up with...

R/T............ .038
60'............. 1.864
330............ 5.354
1/8............. 8.273
MPH............ 83.93
1000.......... 10.827
1/4............ 12.967
MPH........... 104.91

Had fun at HRP tonight, alot of car troubles but it was a good night for my friends and I. Yet ANOTHER bolt on LT1 in the 12s

BTW the 3.73s made me about .3 (maybe .35) tenths and 2 mph faster

Congrats man! I know exactly how you felt. I probably made a dozen or more 13.0x passes (including two 13.00x passes before I finally got a 12.98 one pass. I know how gratifying it feels to finally get there. Of course...what might prove to be just as tough (as it was for me) is to do it again!

AWESOME man.....good for you. I'm bummed as hell because I was going to take my car to the track last night for the first time since breaking in my motor but heard some noises coming from my valve train. Did the relashing and cancelled all my plans with the friends. I had about 30 people that was goin to come down to watch. After everything, found out it was some loose header bolts. . The messed up part is that I go back working weekends until Feb., so I can't run until then.

But thats okay....everyone knows....everything happens for a reason.

Congrats. I have had similar traps in the past with no traction, so I know it's possible to hit 12's now with some

Yea by the looks of them you would think the stock manifolds would flow better.. Make that your next mod, those times will drop even more and the traps will go up

Darn must be nice to have traction!
I wouldn't think 12's were possible with such low MPH.
I guess I need tires! (and a new rear-end in due time )

traction is my friend... stalling to 1500, then flooring it on the 3rd yellow... dead hook

Go

do you have a stock converter? And have you done much weight reduction and if so what all did you remove? And how do you get those Nitto's to hook so good (what is your strategy?) The reason i ask is because im gonna get 3.73 gears, programming, probably headers and most likely Nitto or Bfg Drag radials next Spring/Summer and i would love to touch into the 12 barrier. If you dont wanna tell all your secrets then you can just pm them to me.

Oh and 1 more question.......you said you gained .35 and 2 mph going to 3.73's......was that from 2.73 or 3.23?

Thanks for any help........this really gets me excited for next year, because my setup is gonna be close to the same.

Yes im on the stock converter, I stall up to 1500 (just before it breaks loose) then mash it all the way to the floor. It dead hooks on Nittos with ~22psi. (heafty burnouts weren't necessary seeing how it hooked the same every time... just a small burnout with some smoke will do for me)

Only weight reduction is the spare tire and jack, and an empty tank of gas.

And yes the gains are from 2.73 to 3.73

Let me know if you have anymore questions.
