I'm converting to a BMR K-frame set up for manual steering rack mounts. I hear a pinto rack will work, is this right??
Thanks for any info!

you will have to let bmr know that you will be runing the pinto rack and they can adjust the rack mounts for that rack, the pinto rack mounts are in a different location than stock. its not a problem just let them know before you order.

The pinto rack will work if you order the K member designed for it. But be forwarned, you will have to fabricate an intermediate shaft from the steering column to the rack as the stock one won't work. You will have to get a mounting kit, and you will also have to get a rack an pinion adapter kit, since the pinto rack is not long enough from end to end. This will require welding. Your other alternative is to buy the K member designed for the stock rack and then buy a modified manual rack from Madman and Co. These are pretty pricey, but a lot less headaches.Originally posted by STaylor
