auto-meter shift lite ?

I'm right in the middle of wiring my Quick-Lite. I got the auto meter RPM activated module (#5310) to trigger the lite. In the instuctions it says "on electronic ign. such as GM HEI,or MSD, connect wire to tach terminal. Warranty will be voided if connected to coil on MSD ingnitions." WTF!! I planned on tapping into the tach output on my MSD 6AL. Will the cause a prob. or what. I've got the stock coil, but doesnt the 6AL by-pass the factory coil(damn that sounds like a stupid ?). If I hook up the module to the tach on the MSD is it gonna blow or what

I hooked up mine to the MSD 6al TACH Output.. NO problem.. The 6AL is not a coil, its an ignition box.. The coil is the thing that hooks up to the optispark that bolts to the heads..
