13.3???? is that all?????
01 trans am ws6, 6speed, SLP long tubes, SLP Y-pipe, SLP loudmouth, SLP lid, Short throw, 4.10 gears, nitto 555rs...my best time was 13.3 at 109, without heating up the tires....and running extremely rich and untuned...is there something wrong??? what should my car be doing? or is it because its not tuned properly??someone help me out
Re: 13.3???? is that all?????
Need to post your whole slip so we can look at where you are having problems, and like said above you gotta be tuned to run right...109 mph is a solid 12 second run with traction...

Re: 13.3???? is that all?????
You definatly have the Mph, how was your 60 ? My car runs 13.6's on street tires, with a 2.1 60' ... I could improve on my short time, but I like my rear end ( Wow that sounds wrong ) My mph was 103.X ? I dont know, I forget exactly what it was now, That was last summer. Im on decent street tires though.
Here is how I launch mine if your having trouble:
Hold the rpm's at around 2000, Play around see what works best for you, then at the first yellow, I start to preload the drivetrain ( Letting the clutch out till it has tension but is not grabbing enough to move the vehicle forward. This helps eliminate the hard shock to all the parts in the drive train. Then on the last yellow, smoothly (But fast) let out the clutch while you lay into the throttle. I can dead hook, or get minimal wheelspin like this. Dead hooking I get a lower MPH but about the same time ?
If your getting too much wheel spin, try to control it through the throttle, not the clutch. Inless you plan on getting a new clutch soon anyways ? I try to go easy on the clutch cause its more of a PITA than new tires are lol. Launching like this your RPM's shouldnt really drop below 2000, which will keep you in a decent torque range.
Since you have better tires though, you could wind that bitch up a little higher and launch the **** outta it. As for whether you should burn out first or not, I really do not know. I have zero experience with drag radials and such. I'd imagine it would help. Since im just using a set of good years that suprisingly hook very well, I just lower the pressure to about 20 lbs and go at it.
I have however heard of people lowering the pressure in their Nittos and stuff even lower than that and hooking up very well.
I dont do a burnout to get the tires hot, however, I drive around the water, then back up to where it just starts to get barely wet, then spin the tires over for a half a second or so to clean them off. Try to spin up to the pre stage ...
PS. Wish mine would run a 13.3 ... At 109 ... LS1+Bolt Ons=
Well, I dont know how much that helped you, but thats how I launch my car in case thats where your having trouble. O and get that thing tuned
