wideband placement question

lookin to purchase a single bank wideband, probably from innovate and i would like to make sure i wont have any issues placing the senor at the Y-pipe merge.

is that too far rearward? or must the sensors be close to the current o2 sensors? i was looking into the f.a.s.t setup which is very nice (2 sensors)but its 2x the price,

any input would be great, also, anybody have any firsthand experience with innovates products? any suggestions on a quality gauge for a fair price?

Re: wideband placement question

The wide band sensors are heated and temperature compensated, so no problem with them being back from the engine. But if you put it after the Y-pipe merge, you won't be able to see the individual cylinder banks, and that's how the PCM controls the fuel, independantly for each bank. Put a bung in each collector, to allow you to put the sensor on either side, to observe one bank at a time.
