Question Tuning for a mac off-road pipe

I just had my mac off-road pipe installed yesterday. The car is louder @idle and @most rev ranges.I can,t really notice a hp gain & will have to take the vehicle to strip to see if indeed is faster. My ? is does pcm need to be tuned for no cat.Btw the cat. was 8 yrs. old and was a Walker hi-flow model& i did a visual chk. inside cat. & it looked alright.Any replies most appreciated.

In a '94 no need to tune for addition of headers or cat removal, with your mods (1.6RR and 160 T-Stat) a performance tune may get you a few extra HP but it's not necessary. IMO cost per HP for tuning is one of the more affordable mods lots of people overlook. If a $125 mail order gets you 10 HP that's only $12.50 per 1 HP increase !!!.
