Question about VEMaster

I'm running a MAF, but want to set in speed density mode and tune the VE tables first. VEMaster allows you to specify the target BLM and "Up To" RPM. How high in the RPM range should you tune these tables? I'm assuming you just want to tune for part throttle with this, right? Maybe up to around 2500/3000 rpm? I'm assuming the upper RPM range would be taken care of when tuning for WOT, right? I'd appreciate any advice.........I'm new to tuning, but I really want to learn this stuff. Thanks.

I usually do up to 4K. But when working with Solomon, I did a WOT pull in 2nd gear to get the whole table. I had my wife watching the KR like a hawk. Thankfully there wasn't any.

Then you'll be done with VE Master. Then its off to tune the MAF but that is more time consuming because you can't use VE Master.

Thanks very much for the input, I appreciate it. Yeah, I'm really looking forward to trying my hand at tuning. I bought Tunercats and Datamaster last year just after getting my motor back together. The plan was to tune it myself, but I just couldn't commit the time necessary to learn this stuff. So for fear of damaging my new motor, I opted to go mail order for a baseline. It's okay, but the blms are still out of wack and it bucks pretty bad. Hopefully I can get it running a little better.

The default setting on VeMaster is 3000 rpms, I just leave it at that.

When you enter WOT or PE (Power Enrichment Mode) the PCM shuts off the O2 feedback (BLM's) are disabled. Therefore VEMaster no longer determines if the VE table is rich/lean. It's a normal driving range tool only. You need a wideband to really measure and tune AFR at WOT.

Is there any benefit in shooting for a target BLM of <128, regardless of tuning VE or MAF tables, if using the BLM Locker patch for WOT?

Well, I set the car up to run in speed density mode and used VEMaster (3) times. I cannot beleive how well this car drives now. My blms are pretty much stuck on 128 and the bucking is completely gone. It drives so well, I'm tempted to get rid of the MAF.....
