Question Programming for bracket racing?

Question: Have any of you had experiance with PCM programiing designed for bracket racing.....
Something to minimize the occasional "suprise" run I sometimes get.
Something to minimize the effects of weather, fuel, eng temp.
Shift points that give the most consistancy.
That sort of thing.
I don't like having to carry .05 in my pocket and play the top end so much.

I run a lot of brackets and have lots of data and yet she still fools me now and then.

I first posted this question in the Drag Racing section here:

PCM Program for bracket racing?

It was suggested to me that I might get a better response here.

Thanks for any help,
Bob Thieda

Hey Bob, very good post. Hope that we get some replys.
I've been wondering about a bracket tune for ages.

Only thing I can add to the thread is that a generally rich tune is generally more consistant. Actually, an overly rich tune is even more consistant. At least that's my experience and really I learned that from Ed Wright.

Bob, you gotta come to some of these ISSCA club events. I know your local track has you busy, but maybe try Impalafest 2004 or some of the Mid West IRS races that Stonebreaker is forming for 2004 or the Atlanta SSHS4.

Anyone have a few tricks to share for a bracket racing tuneup?

Karl
