PCM programming cables and software????

I just got my OBD1 conversion from Bryan at PCMforless and was wondering what other accessories I needed to monitor it myself. Are you able to check...for example....you fuel mixture and crap like that? Is it worth it?

I know about the cable but which one do I get and where do I get the software?

Also I have an old laptop......a Toshiba 445CDX. I think its like a 133Mhz. Pentium 1. Will that work?

Thanks everyone........this board rocks.

Go here: http://www.akmcables.com/

He sells the cable and has links to software. I recommend Datamaster for logging runs and Tunercat for modding the pcm file.

Uh, I think your question has been answered already, but if you need another opinion, I second Andrew's cable www.akmcables.com and Datamaster. Buy both from him.
The cable is required either way (even if you decide to use the free logging tools later on) and plus, you'll be able to scan codes with it too.

If you don't feel like spending $95 for a cable, you can buy the "crimp" version for $65 which is just as functional as the molded one.

Do you guys just go and pay him with no info? Andrew has never answered any of my emails. I understand he is very busy but I can't see sending money without any information.

Yea, just pay him directly. He'll send the stuff quick.
Most of "us, busy people" always read emails and ship quick, but never have time to reply at the moment and then the email gets lost among a ton of others that came in the mean time....
