need help with TunerCat security error
 

I've just purchased TunerCat and I'm trying to do my first PCM read. I:

- run flshread.exe
- enter "stock" as the filename
- enter "1" as my com port
- connect the cable to the ALDL connector and turn the key 'on'
- enter 'p' to start the read

after a second or two I get an error "security violation (0)"

The instructions say to remove power from the PCM for 30 seconds if you get this error. I pulled the PCM fuse for 30 seconds with no change. I pulled the PCM fuse for 2 minutes with no change. I removed the negative battery cable for two seconds with no change. I removed the negative battery cable, went in and took a shower....no change.

Can anyone help?

FYI, I figured out my problem!

I wasn't giving the PCM enough time to boot before hitting the 'p' to proceed with the read. I'd turn the key on and once the fuel pump quit, I'd hit 'p'. That wasn't enough time. If I wait ~8 seconds or so it'll work fine.
