Keep OBDI conversion or go back to OBDII

I am going to be tuning for boost. Right now I am running OBD1 in my 97 car. Ive had LT1 edit since about 2001, so its an old version that hasnt been updated. I was thinking about getting a software for my OBDII computer and tuning it instead. Any benifit to doing this. Is OBDII tuning more powerful? Should I just stick with the OBD1 since I have it?

Im planning on running an SD tune

Will my OBD1 cable with the OBDII connector work or will I need a new cable

jchevy, I am no expert at this, but I have read enough to know that if you have already converted to OBDI than it is easier to tune than OBDII. The only advantage that I would see to converting back would be to pass emmisions, which would probably be questionable with the mods in your signature anyway.

It also sounds as though you have the OBDII cable, so your cable will work.

Sorry if I haven't answered your questions well enough, but this will bump you back to the top anyway.
