Help...want to add a little fuel 4500-6500 rpm's @ wot...

As the title says, I want to know what table I need to edit in tunercat to add a little more fuel in the 4500-6500 range because when my car was on the dyno, it was getting very close (according to the dyno operators) of pinging. I'm thinking it is because I don't have enough fuel (just have a mail-order tune for now) since timing is basically stock 35 deg @ wot plus I believe 4 grounded into cam so ~39 deg. I don't want to do anything drastic, but I figure adding a little fuel for safety sake is well worth the trouble.

Increase your Power Enrichment tables by about 7% in that RPM range

You want to change two tables. % Change to Air/Fuel Ratio VS. Coolant Temp at WOT and % Change to Air/Fuel VS. RPM at WOT. The A/F ratio is a function of these two variables (along with some other variables). It is dependent on both temperature and RPM. You will want to focus mostly on the 80C, 92C and 104C columns. These three are where your car runs once it is fully warmed up. In order to richen up the a/f ratio at a given RPM, increase the values in the % Change to Air/Fuel VS. RPM at WOT table.

Below is an Excel spreadsheet I made up, using the formula given by Tunercat to figure the approximate A/F using these two tables:

http://www.public.asu.edu/~dbump/airfuelcalc.xls

Change the values in the two tables at the top of the spreadsheet. These are the same tables you will see in Tunercat (the % change in a/f).

I had the same problem with my pcmforless tune. It ran dangerously lean up top. You will want to change those values so your approximate a/f ratio (bottom table in the excel spreadsheet) is somewhere in the 12.5-12.9:1 range. Once you have the tables the way you want them, simply copy and paste the values from excel back into tunercat.

I say 12.5-12.9:1 because this is how my car runs best.

This is just my personal trial/error...take it as just that.

Yes, very nice spreadsheet, thanks for sharing that. It'll be useful instead of trying to figure it out in my head from now on!
