I have a dell inspiron 8100 laptop with usb,firewire,and a serial port.

The car is a 95 z28 with obd-i with an odb-ii style connector.

I want to install software on my laptop plus find an adapter that will work with the software.

This is what I want the software to be able to do....

Edit the pcm settings because the pcm is set up for an auto tranny and i need to change gear ratios setting and other settings to a manual tranny setup.

I want to be able to use the software with the laptop OBD-ii vehicles also so i can do things like view data and codes and reset the SES light. I would prefer software that can view many vehicles info instead of software that can only do one vehicle. If i have to I could use seperate kinds of software but would like to just go with one if possible.

Also back to the camaro, i want to be able to view data,maybe with charts etc, and be able to store values over say a minute of driving.

Reset the SES light on the 95 Z and also view SES light codes.




what software is capable of all this. and what cable with interface with it and my laptop.



http://www.autotap.com/autotap_for_windows.html autotap seems nice with nice graphics...but its obd-ii only. my car is obd-i.

That is the software for OBD1

www.tunercat.com has the software to edit the PCM calibrations. The only other thing you will need is a cable from www.akmcables.com
