Flash in Windows or in DOS?
 

I plan to screw around with TunerCat because it's cheaper and I have 2 Z28's I plan on screwing with.

I am natively a DOS person, I don;t trush winbloze any further than I can throw it, however some say flashing in Windows is better (IE doesn't fry the ECM?)

What software do you use, and how do you like to flash, DOS or Windows?

There is no LT1_edit dos flashing.
I've used them all, and I have to agree, I'd do it in DOS mode too, but most of the time I'm too lazy to restart and I just use Tunercat in Windows. I use a separate PC (in a different room) only for that, so I'm not worried about anything interfering with the process. And if it does, I'll fix it in this room. ;)

Personally, I only use DOS. I trust the WIN9x kernel about as far as I can throw my car uphill and into the wind. It is kinda annoying to have to go to DOS, but I believe it is worth it, even with the new, updated version of Tunercat's WIN flash program. The NT kernel is much better and far less prone to error (especially those errors that can effect the erasing/writing process), but I still don't trust anything that Microsoft puts out. I really wish they would write a Linix/Unix flash program, it would be far less prone to error than a WIN program. Still DOS is probably still best, I've still never seen anyone crash a DOS system without purposely doing it.
