can someone check my datalog?

I hope that's it. Car is running well. Its an open loop tune 383 LT1. It was almost 100 degrees outside today! First part is a little idling, then some normal driving, until I floor it in 4th gear starting around 2300 going to what I thought was about 5800 (the gauge tach is way off!!) It almost seemed like it didn't want to go past 5700/5800 RPM's (gauge tach reading).

Re: can someone check my datalog?

Injuneer and Greg Doug, if you see this that mystery DTC pops up a few times for one line but never states what code it is. Also, something weird happened on one line where the Malf43a, Malf43c, Malf43d, and injector fit all turned to 1. I have no idea what that means.

Mods are 383 eagle forged crank, forged pistons and rods, over the radiator CAI
jethot longtubes and custom true duals with h-pipe dumped, comp 1.6rrs ported LT1 heads (flow 270/190)
ported runner LT4 intake, EWP
42lb green top ford injectors
custom grind cam by alan futral 238/245
58mm BBK throttle body
all emissions stuff deleted and PS, ABS delete

I wouldn't worry about that. I have seen many glitches like it. I don't think it means anything.

Tried to download, and got a "download failure"... and it was trying to download a .exe file, which is never a good idea.

I'm not sure if I posted the link right. I saw a .csv file. Did I post it right??

Edit. Idk, when I click the link it goes straight to it. - http://www.mediafire.com/view/fpmm3h...P9S2218591.csv

I think sometimes it tries to get you to download spam and you don't even realize it.

Re: can someone check my datalog?

You have it set to "view" and that requires a small exe file (the viewer) to precede it. It works for me but Fred may have a higher security level than mine. Post a link without the view parameter.

OK... I got it. Date is 08-June-2014 with first record at 12:36:36, and last record at 12:40:29?

Re: can someone check my datalog?

Are you sure you don't have the carpet stuck under the accel pedal? The throttle never shows more than 61% open.

Wow really? Its possible. Where do you see that value? TPS? I did something stupid a few days where I had the clamp screw on my over radiator CAI in the way of the throttle, but I fixed that for this run. How can it be 61% because I do know it showed PE mode.

Edit - I just had someone floor the car from inside while I checked the throttle. It was all the way open. So whys it showing 61% and what does that mean for the way it runs? Thanks a lot guys. I appreciate it.

Re: can someone check my datalog?

Would indicate a problem with the TPS sensor. Reads OK closed, but WOT it should read about 4.5V. Yours only read about 2.7V if I recall correctly. PE mode is activated at less than 100% throttle position. There is a table of TPS% vs RPM the determines PE.

When I saw 61% TP%, I also looked at MAP, and it was not as high as I would expect for 100%. Then I looked at MAP G/Sec and that was not as high as it should be. If you removed the intake elbow to verify the blades were fully open, is it possible the elbow clamp was blocking the throttle quadrent? I've seen that happen..... quadrent caught on the clamp screw.

I do not have an elbow anymore. I made sure no clamps were in the way, and that the blades were fully opening. Hmmmm. This is interesting. Heres a pic of my setup [IMG][/IMG]

Re: can someone check my datalog?

Is the table %TPS threshold For WOT Vs RPM Vs Cool temp? Is that the right table? If so, it has a "low temp" and a "high temp" table at 400 RPM increments. Its been completely zeroed out for the "high temp" side.

Edit - just checked the log. Line 1506 shows 61% and 2.71 volts. Interesting. 61% is a good bit from 100.

Re: can someone check my datalog?

I'm not a stock PCM programmer, I ditched mine 14 years ago... I just know there is a table of RPM/TP% for WOT. My stock 94 program (pulled using LT1_Edit) was:

<2,800 RPM - 66%
4,000 RPM - 38%
5,600 RPM - 28%

Do a quick check with a volt meter (or scanner) and see what you get for WOT throttle voltage between black ground and dark blue signal wire. Also make sure you have the 5V reference between the gray wire and the black wire.

When I got my car back from the shop that built the stroker, I was getting a very low signal voltage (maybe ~3V) for WOT. I traced it back to them switching the signal wire and the 5V reference wire in the TPS harness connector (they had to rewire it because they removed my electronic WOT throttle switch for my old NOS nitrous kit). It didn't matter on my setup, because my aftermarket ECU requires that I set the closed throttle and WOT throttle voltages to baseline the system. When I rewired it, I just had to enter the new voltages.

Check the data log you posted. Look at the records for 12:40:00/203.87 seconds through 12:40:07/210.92 seconds. You accelerated from 2,269 RPM to 5,451 RPM, and your TP% (TPV) ranged from 43% (2.16V) - 61% (2.71V). While the barometer is 100.76 kPa, at 61% TP% your MAP was 97.07 kPa, which isn't out of line for a true WOT, but at 50% and below MAP was only ~80 kPa.

I don't have an elbow any more, but I have had the clamps interfere.

Re: can someone check my datalog?

Once again, I appreciate your time. Ill check voltages, and double check the throttle on the throttle body. Real quick though, will only showing 61% hurt power? Or its not that big a deal?

Re: can someone check my datalog?

I just went out with the laptop (SCAN 94/95), and with key on I floored it and it seems to work very smoothly. Went back and forth through the motions and even slowly it shows well. It goes to about 4.6/4.7 volts and 100% floored. PE mode is entered at around 2.6 volts, and about 56% so I was barely into PE mode on that run. Not sure what happened really. I bet I just didn't floor it like I thought I did. I guess I either had a brain fart or the raw power of this car frightened me lol! Thanks. Ill see if I can do another run soon and Ill make sure its to the floor!
