AFR used for your higher comp LT1 engines?

What AFR are you requesting with your bin file within the tune /or running with your 11. to 1 or higher compression engines? Mine has a medium cam, 230/236 duration. I just did my calculations and they were requesting 13.1-13.5 on my tune. Seems a little lean. And my LM-1 wideband shows it a little higher than that
I checked three different tuners tunes for my engine, and two were the above and one was way down at 11.4 to 11.7.
I personally would like to calculate out the PE tables within Tunercat to get 12.7.
Spark advance is 36 at WOT 100KPA, for example on all three tunes.

I think your question is very tough because how many people have actually done dyno testing of their engines at different AFR's in order to determine where you produce max torque at any given RPM? I would say not many if any.

I have always heard 12.6-13.0 is the best range for our engines but I cannot verify this other than my specific dyno run at my specific AFR. Personally, I like my car running a bit richer than that and so I operate it at 12.2. This cools the combustion process a bit more and keeps the engine from possible predenotation in the hot AZ air.

Further, you discuss static CR. I have a static CR of 11.3 BUT I have a Dynamic CR of 9.2. This is extremely high from what I have seen built by others but is also the reason I am able to produce the torque I can. I estimate you would have a DCR in the high 8's because you have so much more overlap on your cam than I do.

Hope it helps.

My Dynamic CR is 8.7. And I am sure people have taken their vehicles on a dyno and tuned it there and seen different afr's.
My torque was 428 rwhp, hp was 425rwhp. But, that was with a throttle body not opening all the way, as i have found is common with AS&M 58MM T Bodies. Now that that is fixed, I need to richen the top end a little as the wideband shows about 14.5 in cruising.
So, you have your PE tables set up to request 12.2?

Yes, I have my AFR at 12.2:1. That is what is my AFR because my tune is right and so I know it is accurate.

What is your setup? I want 425 RWTQ also!!!!!

396 LT1 with 11.1to1 compression, Comp Cams XE230/236 cam, CNC ported LT1 heads (CNC inc out of Florida), AS&M 58MM T-Body, DELTEQ ignition, DRM Long Tube 1 3/4 stainless headers, Auto with 2800rpm stall, and 3.75 gears.
Runs 11.6 in my Corvette IRS set up for autocrossing, so I am losing just a little extra grip.
