93 LT1 computer upgrade options?

I'm new to the LT1, but got a six speed last week. I was told by someone the computer on the 93 is different from the later models.
What upgrades can I do on the computer.
I'm getting intake and exhaust done this week and wanted to take full advantage of the upgrades.

The computers are diffrent because they still use EPROM Chips instead of being able to flash the computer on '94 and up years. You can buy a TunerCat for you car or Speed pro. Or just buy a chip from like Hypertech or Fastchip, I personally have a Fastchip on my '93. www.fastchip.com
Hope this helps.

I've been burning chips for the last couple of months for a buddies 93 and it's really not that hard. You can either buy all the stuff yourself ($500ish) or spend $300 for junk hypertech or $400 for Ed Wright.
If you don't want to buy the stuff yourself, I would recommend you get your chip from Bryan Herter at www.pcmforless.com
He has a pretty good reputation offering programs for 94-97 LT1's and now does chips too.

$400? I got my chip for $160

Really?
A friend of mine paid $400 for his Ed Wright Fastchip for his 396.
$160 isn't too bad.

Fastchip charges quite a bit more for custom tuned chips than their standard ones. Frankly, ever since I went stroker, Ed's mail order tuning hasnt been worth a damn - it's either got a lean part throttle stumble, or it's too rich. Plus, current retuning of his chip is $150.00 (before to a fro shipping) if you want additional changes down the road. It was only $50.00 when I orginally bought the chip.

Go beyond the basic bolt-ons and mail order tuning is a crap shoot. I've opted for Accel DFI, which I'll be installing in September.
