1995 z28 engine code
 

I was able to have the car read and an engine code came up

Code 15- coolant temp signal high or open

The car shows SES upon cold starting and coughs and sputters under acceleration until up to temp. I've just been warming her up in the driveway before getting underway. Any thoughts or sage advise?

Check the electrical connector on the engine coolant sensor (for PCM). If it looks ok, replace the sensor.

The advice is to heed the code and check out the temp sensor/circuit in the water pump. This code tells you that the sensor is reading low and that will cause an over-rich condition which results in the problems you are experiencing.

I want to thank everyone for the help. I know the experts here have answered the same questions over and over but please note that as a newby I appreciate you taking the time to assist.

It was the in the water pump temp sensor it's now changed and no cold running issues.
