speedometer

Just a couple days ago I installed a new carb in my car. Went and test drove it and noticed my speedometer doing weird things. The needle would bounce back and forth, from o mph and even past 120 mph. It also seems to be making a noise, from the speedometer itself. Anybody know whats wrong?

A little lube in the speedo cable housing might fix things for ya. I'm not positive, but I think there's a special lube that you're supposed to use.

I had a similar problem in my car and a little oil in the housing stopped the sound.

If that doesn't end up fixing the problem, I don't know what else to tell you, other than the speedometer cable's getting ready to stop working My '79Z did that, and about 5 miles later, it stopped working entirely
