Front Shock Lower Mount Nuts

Can anybody tell me where I can get the U nuts that secure the lower part of the shock to the lower control arm?

Thanks!

Larry

Last time I tried to buy some at the dealership was about 10 years ago for a 69. Didn't know what I was talking about. If it doesn't show on their computer, they are lost. So I went to a junkyard and picked up a bunch for cheap. Any Nova, Omega, Cutlass, etc, can donate to the cause.

You should be able to get these from any body shop. They are called T-nuts. If you can not find them there you can always pick up an industrial supply catalog such as Granger or McMaster Carr.

I also went the junyard route. Just about any 90-earlier GM RWD car uses the same clip-nuts on the lower front control arms shock mounting. Caprice, Malibu, Olds, Buick, whatever.

The ones that come in the "Help!" bubble packs say they fit the application but they're full of crap. They're just..... wrong and don't fit.

I had to go with a catalog supplier. I couldn't find them locally and T nuts are too big and you can't get the shock in
