Blown carb gasket

Well I took my camaro out for a spin around the block and I got on it a little bit and all of a sudden I started hearing this louding knocking sound. I was like sh*t!!!!!!!! I thought I threw a rod.... It was loud..... well I turned off the car and started it back up... heard it again... but when I gave it gas it went away so I knew it wasnt a rod....... the carb gasket in the front had been sucked in! now my question is, since this got sucked into the manifold will it be dangerous in away way? And what should I do about it? Never had this happen..... Thx

If u take your carb off u might be able to fish the pieces of the gasket out whith a piece of a coat hanger what type of carb are u running if u are using the paper type gasket u should find one that is thicker and make sure your carb is tightent to your specks good luck
