Basic 350 Build with 98 Vortec heads
 

I have a '78 Z28 automatic. I want to build the 350 engine to at least 300hp at rear wheels using 92 octane or less. My current 350 has about 8.5:1 compression. I have a set of 98 Vortec heads and a 600 Edelbrock that i am currently planning to use. Please give me advise on what Vortec/Carb friendly intake, cam, springs, valves, timing chain, headers, stall/torque converter, ect. to use. If 600 carb is not big enough please let me know what you would recommend. I do not have money to install flat top pistons. Thank you for taking the time to help me.
