1972 Reliability?
 

Hi all. Im new here and am just getting into classic cars. I am seriously considering buying a 1972 Z28 camaro. it is right in my budget and is in immaculate condition. The problem is, I'm going halvesies with my dad and he has had a bad experience with his 1973 camaro and its engine's reliability. So... well what do you guys think?

I am assuming the engine is rebuilt, so It would depend on how well the engine is assembled and the parts that are in it. A good running Chevy 350 should be reliable, but my experience with 35+ year old classic cars is they do need constant care and maintenance. So while the engine itself may be reliable, It seems there is always something on the car that needs work. If you are mechanically inclined and have the time, motivation and money, then I'd say go for it. However, you may come to better appreciate the performance, reliability, fuel economy, and practicality of the more modern cars which is why I just sold my 69 Big Block 4speed Chevelle and am back into a Fourth Gen LS1.
