1969 Camaro Fuel Filter question

I'm sure this is stupid question but.....

1969 Camaro SS/RS 396 / 325HP

What is supposed to connect to (what looks like a vent) on a fuel filter for use with the three piece fuel line. Currently there is a short hose that doesn't connect to anything. Is this just a vent or should that hose connect to something?

I have the assembly guide someplace in my basement or in the garage. If no one responds I'll try and dig it up and see for you.

Re: 1969 Camaro Fuel Filter question

This is from memory so do more research. I think it went back to the tank. This reduced or eliminated vapor lock.
If you don't have the third line, you can just get a universal filter with the single in/single out.
