New to the site and lookin for some input
Hi all-
I have perused around here for quite some time and finally decided I should join. Actually, the primary motivator is that I am about to purchase my third F-body and am really stoked about it.
I found a numbered '96 SS, Red, 6M, Leather, T-Tops, torsen, loudmouth, etc, for what I think is a decent price (I am trying to convince the wife that I need another toy... yikes). I just thought I would get some input from others who know these cars very well.
Cosmetically the car is in great shape. Original paint with few scratches and no dings, tears in leather, etc. It does have relatively high mileage (96k) and needs some mechanical work (clutch, shocks, tires really BAD, A/C doesn't work) so I am using those things to bring down the price. So far I got him down from $8300 to $6000 which I think is fair, given the work that it needs. Does that seem too high for a car that needs work? What are the 96's usually worth? I would really appreciate the input.
