Chevrolet made the second-generation Camaro longer, lower, and wider than the first-generation, to make it more of “A Driver’s Car”. Under the hood, this car is powered by a 330-horsepower, 350-cubic-inch, 5.7 Liter V-8. The inside features high-back Strato bucket seats, with built-in headrests new to the 71’ model. The 1971 Z28 also received a new front air dam, and a redesigned spoiler.
Chevrolet racing engineers were able to greatly improve the steering, braking, and balance of the second generation Camaro. Utilizing a unibody structure with A-arm and coil spring front suspension, and rear leaf springs. Chevrolet was also able to make significant advances in sound proofing, ride isolation, and road-holding. The second generation Camaro ran from 1970 - 1981.
