$7900---'96 Camaro SS Supercharged 396 (11psi and about 550 rwhp)

See Craigslist or Autotrader ad for pictures.

My 96 SS Supercharged 396 is now up for sale. After lots and lots and lots of work and money. For a dirt cheap price. My starting price was $14,000 on Craigslist a while back. At $6900, give me a break. You could strip the parts off and recover that. Current ad is below, as seen on Craigslist. Also have it up on Autotrader now. With free autoreport.
I've been on this forum for a long time and you can get a sense from past posts that I'm probably sane and honest. If you are still into fast cars and the 4th gen F-body, you will never find a better deal.
Will also consider trades for a BMW RT1200 or Triumph Trophy 1200.

Check the internet for other Camaros. There are bone stock ones around the same year selling for more than this. There is no way this car should still be up for sale. And I've done both buyer and seller a favor by listing the lowest price. No bargaining. I put it at $6900 so it would sell and I wouldn't have to deal with all the tire kicking any more. ...I must have sent out pictures 200 times now and replied to three hundred texts and emails.

It's an LT1 engine, stroked and bored to 396ci and supercharged to 11psi. It is driveable on the street and it will beat anything on the road except something like a new Z06 or a top of the line Porsche. And it would still give any of them a run for it at that. It's fully built from front to back and almost everything on it has less than 3000 miles of use. I've also only taken it to a track one time, and it was an 1/8th mile track so I don't have a quarter mile time, but I do have a dyno chart, and it made 611 hp at the wheels with the old camshaft. I've put a more civilized cam in there since then, and it probably makes about 550 now, but it drives much better.
It has a stiff suspension which consists of adjustable shocks, eibach springs, and panhard bar, along with aftermarket rear struts. Also a stiff frame due to Kenny Bell subframe connectors. It's a forged motor, of course, with four bolt mains, Callie's crank, Eagle H-beam rods, and custom Ross pistons. 8.75 compression and 11 psi with liquid intercooler and Vortech S-trim. Transmission built by six speeds inc. for $2,000, new clutch, new pressure plate, new flywheel insert, 12 bolt rear with Eaton positraction "best of everything" option. What this means is, nothing is going to break, and if you know the 4th gen Camaro/Firebird you know that these are all the best parts you can get. It also has an electric cutout: push the switch to open it up and it sounds like something escaped from a zoo that has no place on a public road; but close it up and you can leave a neighborhood late on a week night without waking anyone up. It has a fuel pressure gauge, boost gauge, air/fuel gauge reading off a wideband O2, and an Innovate Motorsports logging system, so you can plug in a laptop to the USB and log TPS, revs, air/fuel, etc. Also new dual walbro fuel pumps, etc, etc, etc.
New O2's, new wheel bearings, new brakes, new TPS, new IAC valve, new optispark, new fuel filter, new tires, new tie rods, new alternator, new ignition coil, new clutch master cylinder, new oil pump.
The body could use some paint--you can see the clear coat coming off the hood-- and there's some cosmetic stuff to do to the interior. I've focused on all the working parts and never got to the cosmetics. I pulled the stock dash out and installed a custom aluminum dash. The main reason for that was so that I could get to stuff that breaks easier, without a Saturday's work just digging through the dash to get to a relay and spending 20 hours troubleshooting. Now every wire and switch in the car can be accessed easily and gauges can be mounted easily, like the AFR gauge in it now. I also didn't really like the extremely long dash in the stock configuration. The slot you can see in the dash is for an audio receiver. I bought a new Alpine a couple weeks ago but still have to put it in. There are wires running around in sight, but that never mattered to me. You could buy some high density foam to cover them if it wasn't aesthetically pleasant to you.

I got married a year ago, and I don't have the zeal for working on cars now that I used to anyway. I have enough other stuff to keep up with. In closing, everything is basically new. Nothing should be breaking anytime soon, no matter what you do with it. It was built solid and built right.

And, I will make sure that I take this ad down as soon as it sells. So if this ad is still up, the car is still for sale. Feel free to contact me if you want to take a look at it.

And, you know what, I'm getting my butt completely kicked selling at this price. But I'd rather sell to someone on this forum than elsewhere. I've been on here since I was ...24 maybe. Now 38. And about half of what I've learned about cars, I've learned on here.
The first fast car I ever rode in was a red '94 Z28. When I was a sixteen year old kid in high school. It was awesome. Felt like sitting in a jet cockpit. And I had to pin my chin to my chest not to get my head snapped back with the acceleration.
Now, I'm out of it. But I did own a truly fast one.

Car is still for sale. I'll make sure to take the ad down when it sells.
There is nothing wrong with the engine. Nothing wrong with the trans or rear end. Just the opposite. Dumped a lot of money into all of that about five thousand miles ago or less, with no trips to the track. Which means that it's all basically new.
At this price, give me a break. Someone buy it.
