is it worth upgrading my speakers?

I have 93z. I bought the car in 2000. It came with pioneer cd player, JBL six inch rear speakers, two apms, one is alpine and other is sound stream. Front speakers are stock. I have since installed two JL ten inch W3 subs and Rockford Fosgate amp. It sounds pretty good but it could be better. I am only interested in replacing speakers, front and back, but I don't know if it's worth it. Has there been a lot improvements in speakers since say 2000. I would consider spending 500 on the new speakers. Also what kind of speakers would you recommend, i read some good reviews on infinity speakers by harmon kardon (sp). Thanks guys.

I don't think there have been any huge advancements in speakers in the last twenty years. Slow and steady improvements, though, and it adds up over that much time.

The front speakers are the usual crap you'll find in most cars. I'd replace them. Leave the JBLs in the back unless they're blown.
