will 2000 head unit replace my 97 head unit?
i've got a couple lights out in my stock stereo headunit in my 97 Z. does anybody know if a 98-02 head unit will swap out and run my the factory stereo setup correctly? they look exactly the same on the outside so i don't see why it wouldn't work.

Did you consider asking in the car audio forum instead of LT1 Tech?

i'm sure it will... my 94 TA had a 2000 head unit when i bought it, until i replaced it with a Pioneer CD Player... It worked fine with the steering wheel controls and all!

On another note, you can send your head unit to get refurbished if you really want to. You can even have an AUX input installed so that you won't have to use those adapters they sell. The only excuse with my Trans AM is that I prefer the gauge face, switch overlays, and interior colors of the Camaro, I couldn't stand that monochrome red. So, I now have a Camaro head unit in my Trans AM with AUX input for an I-pod or smart phone. I will suggest a guy on ebay who does this work on factory head units. The radio I got from him certainly has more power than my Firebird Delco unit! On ebay he goes by the name ohms101. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevy-Delco...N5FS:rk:2:pf:0 |
