Question Who has done their own remote start install themselves?

Just got my design tech Add-On remote start and was looking at the instruction, looks kinda basic, once you find the right stuff, but I have been fooled by things like this before. How was the install and how long did it take?
thanks

Its not all that bad. You have a chip in the key right? Coupla ways to go about that. Is it keyless entry as well? If so you need to worry about the BCM as well.

it's not too difficult at all really.

Here's a couple of things I stole from the LS1.com FAQs for fbody things...

Wiring diagram for alarm install
12 volt - Red*
Starter - Yellow*
Ignition - Pink*
Acc (heater blower)- Orange*
Acc - Brown*

* heavy gauges wires in ignition switch harness located under the dash by the steering column

Passlock wires - 2 small guage wires in oranging sheathing near ignition harness

Brake wire - Light Blue(+) - at brake switch or wire harness running by the door sill

Reverse wire - light green wire (+) in white harness in passenger kickpanel)

Tach - white wire in lower harness of PCM. Pin 35 for 98 and Pin 10 for 99-up

Trunk release - Black/white at switch

Headlights - Yellow(+) - at headlight switch
Parking lights - Brown(+) - at headlight switch

Horn - black(-) - steering column harness

VSS (vehicle speed sense wire) - Green/white - Radio harness on camaros...at cruise control module on Firebirds. (normally used for navigation systems)

Factory arm - (+) - Gray at BCM
Factory disarm - (+) - Tan at BCM

Door Lock - Red/black (-) at BCM
Door Unlock - Orange/Black (-) BCM
Door/Trunk trigger - White (-) at BCM
**You'll have to wire the alarm for domelight supervision so that the BCM "wakes" back up**

Drivers window up - Blue*
Drivers window down - Brown*
Passenger window up - Light Blue*
Passenger window down - Tan*
*located in the drivers door

PCM is the computer in the engine compartment near the windshield on the passenger side.

BCM is located in the passenger kickpanel.

NOTES:
*1 The PCM is located under the hood on the passenger side inner fender at
the firewall. On the V6 the wire is located in pin 54, and on the V8 the
wire is located in pin 35.
*2 The BCM is located in the passenger kick, just in front of the blower
motor.
*3 The tan will unlock the drivers door and the gray/black will unlock the
passenger door. Wire each as a 5-wire system with separate relays. See
direct fax document # 1052
*4 Not all models include this circuit.
*5 Use gray/black for the drivers door and black/white for the passengers
door. Both triggers must be diode isolated.
*6 Some models are equiped with a factory alarm. The only way to disarm
these alarms is with the factory remote or turning on the ignition. To turn
off the factory alarm, see "direct fax document #1051".

Yea I found a link with all of the wire colors that mach my car from bret frankers site, and i dont need to wory about the BCM because my car is a 94. I already measured the resistance of my key, and am goin to buy the relay and resistor tonight.

Thanks guys
-Ted

BTW where does your wire harness run through the fire wall? I was thinkin of goin through the floorboard or the trans tunnel, just cause it looks easier.
