What's needed to run aftermarket HU with stock speakers???
My car does not have the Monsoon system, just the 4 speakers. I just want to run an aftermarket MP3 deck for now, plan on buying better speakers later on. What would I need to hook up an aftermarket deck with the stock speakers?

If your speakers are all 4 ohms all you need is a wiring harness to plug your new deck into the factory wiring. If the factory woofers in the doors are 2 ohms like the POS Monsoon system you may have a problem. Your typical HU can't power 2 ohm speakers. Not at loud listening levels anyway. At low to moderate levels you might be OK. If not the HU will probably go into protection mode and shut down.

I'm uding a aftermarket HU (Pioneer DEH-P77DH) and I have 2 ohm speakers.
No problems, sounds decent for stock speakers
