Tired of poor keyless entry range? 95 and earlier, Come on in!

Tonight i was feeling a bit creative, and was thinking of how tired i was of placing my remote against my driver side window in order for my doors, or worse yet, my hatch to unlock on my 95 Z. After much searching and reading, i had an idea. First, i removed the module from the right side kick panel and opened its casing....

Okay, i'm sure that this would work minus the solder, for those of you who may not know how to solder, but I am positive that it works better if you can. I next took a nice long piece of stranded lampcord, stripped it back a bit and wrapped it around the antenna loop that is on the modules board, and soldered it right to the length of the antenna loop as shown...

This is what i ended up with...

Next, i drilled a small hole, just big enough for the wire, in the thin cover as shown....

And set the modules board back in the casing...

Then i fed the wire through the hole in the thin cover, and snapped it back on, ending with this......

Time to meander back to the car. My car has T-tops, so next i removed the right side pillar. Then re-installed the module in its resting place. I then took my newly extended antenna wire, and ran it up the pillar, feeding as much wire as possible between the headliner and roof. There is a nice gap there to do such, you can't miss it :) Once all the slack is in there, time to snap the pillar trim back on, hiding the wire behind it. Then the kick panel can be re-installed, effectively concealing the remaining wire. Now the fun part. In my situation, the new effective range on both of my remotes is a consistant 50 FEET FROM ANY DIRECTION! Go ahead and try it out on yours!

If anyone decides to give this a shot on their 95 or earlier, please post back your results. If any of the mods determine this is worthy of a sticky, please feel free to do such :)
