Sub question
How many watts would u suggest putting to a kicker l7 12 inch at minimum?
i basically have 180 watts to play with on my amp cause its a 5 channel with 180 for the sub(s)...if that won't push that sub which im afraid it won't very well..what speakers would u suggest that would sound with 180 watts ------------------ 1994 Teal Z28 Cowl Induction Hood Hurst Short Throw Edelbrock Headers Adjustable Borla Cat-Back 17" Eagle wheels w/245 45 17 Kuhmo Supras TB Bypass Air Foil 160 degree thermostat 1LE High flow bellows 13.75@102.13mph AIM name: kristof30 |
180 watts, i doubt that anything can beat the combination of sound quality and SPL of a Tempest in a ported box.... especially for the price. If you don't have 4 cubes to work with, a Shiva would be awesome in a 2.5 cube ported box.

for that power the L7 is a poor choice, and if sound quality is a priority i think it is a very poor choice.

ok well basically i am looking at a milhose box with probably two tens in it, unless i can get one twelve to be louder...so there is only 1.6 cubes of space...so what do u think about that situation? thanks for the help

I honestly think you should look hard at a single 12" Shiva. If you think you need a pair of 10s, then maybe a pair of Alpines or 10W3s. JMO. Granted, 180 watts isn't that much, but these subs will use it more effectively than the L7 would and probably sound better to boot.

Do you have a link for the Shiva's..they seem to be home audio mostly...can't really find car audio ones.
Thanks |

how would two 10 inch MB Quart subs sound in comparison to the one 12 inch Shiva?

well, i have only heard the lowest line of MB Quart subs, and the Shiva absolutly KILLED the pair of tens. Low end, output, accuracy, their was nothing that the shiva didn't do better. IMO the shiva is the best bang for the buck sub out there.... i really shouldn't say that since when you hear one you don't think of budget at all, all you think is WOW.
It originally started as a home sub, but it works VERY well in car. what it lacks in looks it excells in performance and sound. It is truly a great sub, and when you take into consideration the price.... unbeatable. ------------------ Soundillusions.net The ultimate in caraudio. Sony, Arc Audio, Infinity, Adire Audio, A/D/S |
So in your opinion one 12 Shiva will outperform two 10 inch MB Quart's?
How about compare to other dual 10 inch speakers with only 180 watts over available power? Sorry for all these questions I just wanna make sure that I get the right sub and it sounds decent ------------------ 1994 Teal Z28 Cowl Induction Hood Hurst Short Throw Edelbrock Headers Adjustable Borla Cat-Back 17" Eagle wheels w/245 45 17 Kuhmo Supras TB Bypass Air Foil 160 degree thermostat 1LE High flow bellows 13.75@102.13mph AIM name: kristof30 |
