Simple Cd Changer Question..

Okay, i have a 96' Firebird Converetible, with the tape deck. My car isn't pre-wired because its a convertible, but i want to know if the Stock CD Changer is compatible with my head unit, and is the stock changer the Delco 10 disk, 12 disk, or i think i've seen a 6 also around.. Just curious as to which it really is, and i want to make sure it will plug in and work before I buy one.
