Power Antenna options (stay down?)

Is there anyway you could control the antenna? I want mine to stay down when turning the radio ON, or when listen to a CD, I don't want the antenna to go up!

All you have to do is add a switch in the turn-on lead going to the antenna. Most new HU's these days have this feature built in. They have the usual remote turn-on lead for the amps and a dedictaed turn-on lead for the antenna alone that only activates when the tuner is being used.

i just did this. my friend told we what to do, cause i dont know much about this stereo crap but i can tell you basically what i had to do.

cut the pink wire, add a wire to the radio end to the power hookup on the switch, then the other end that you cut, run a wire to the load hookup on the switch. it was very easy, i made it way harder than it had to be.lol

it kinda sucks that this is even an issue. My headunit only has one line out for remote turn on/power antenna. I shouldn't have to add a switch to control an antenna.

Where did you guys put the switch? pics?

You can place the switch wherever it's most convenient for you. At one point I had mine hidden in the center console. Then I got a new Alpine HU that had a dedicated antenna lead built in.

yeah i know, I was just wondering where some people had put it. I'll probably end up putting it in the ash tray

i ran the wires from the the wiring, behind the dash, down to the consol, around the shifter, then up between the little hinge on the ash tray and tucked the switch right in there.
