i think the lens on my 10 speaker 95 formula cd player is shot (at least thats what my bro says) it refuses to start playing almost all cd's (only 3 out of 45) IT IS NOT BECAUSE THEY ARE SCRATCHED... some are old some are normal and some are brand new it doesn't discriminate? am i right? what should i do? i know NOTHING about audio stuff..

Have you tried running a cleaning kit through the player yet. It could be that your lens is just REALLY dirty. I do not generally condone the regular use of these items, but once a year is fine and sometimes needed. Pick up one at a local music store, make sure to get a WET/DRY one perferably with multiple cleaning surfaces. If that doesn't help, time for a new unit. For that your looking in the $150+ range or so for a good brand, bottom of the line player. Nice ones run around $300 and top models without going to the extreme genrally run $500-600.

it could be that your cd player has gone sour. It's prolly time for a new one.
