Question Need tips on a rear deck sub box

I am about to build a sub box to hold two 12's that will sit on the rear deck behind the back seats of my 98 Camaro. Do any of you guys have any tips on how I should build it or do you know of any problems I might run in to. All help is appreciated.

Umm, I got one for ya. Make sure you build it to clear the glass on the hatch

I am sure that helped him a bunch I would advise against putting a box there due to sound issues. Try putting one in the left rear corner for better quality.

this is the design that i came up with for my TA. It fits great. its NOT at all in the way when looking in my rearview mirror. I can see clear over it and still see under my wing.
Since the subs are facing at the glass I reversed the phase on my subs and now they sound 1.4X better then when i was running them with normal phase.

FYI, I put a box on my rear deck (10" in a sealed box) and it sounded horrible. I put that same box down in the bottom of the hatch area, and it sounded great. (much louder) 2 12's might sound a little different though Good luck building the box, I have and it's very rewarding.

Instead of building one, you can buy mine, I'm selling it with my amp rack and trim piecesfor a good deal. It's 2 12s and two 8s. Depending on how big your box needs to be, you will need to make sure you clear the glass and the easily overlooked hatch lift struts. If you're concerned for weight, make sure you do what you need to do to avoid that. Work with FG all you can if weight is your concern. A little MDF can get heavy
