Whats up fellas ? Let me start off buy stating that i'm completely clueless when it comes to car electronics. I'm trying to replace my monsoon in my 01 z (that piece of crap) just had a few questions. What size speakers should i be looking for up front, back seat, and hatch area ? What's the difference between components, 3-ways, etc...which is best? I don't really care for bass (not into rap much) i'd like some nice high's. Any recommendations ? I don't know whether to go to my local bestbuy etc.. How hard is installation ? i've got 2 finalists on a head unit ....sony cd player or pioneer head unit which one would yall recommend ? would the stereo be enough to push the speakers for the sound i want? sorry for all the questions....i'm pretty useless when it comes to knowing about car electronics....thanks in advance for any help....eli

 

WOW! Another Corpus person lol. I would definately go Pioneer. I have the 8600 deck with Kenwood Components up front, then stock monsoon all the way back. The front sizes are 6 1/2's, the mid are 6 1/2 just subs, and the rear are 4x6 I believe. I installed my front speakers and my cd deck, so if you need any help, just hit me up.

 

sweet thanks. So the monsoon (passenger's and rear's) would work fine with the a pioneer headunit ? would you recommend it ? and do you recommend any 6 1/2's for up front ? thanks

 

On that particular pioneer unit you picked out, I have not heard it. Im sure though from reading the specs it is pretty close to mine. Up front I would definately upgrade speaker wise because the stock ones will sound too low for the new deck. I got these http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1072284520517 I mounted the 6 1/2 in the door and the tweeter I mounted on my sail panels. Sounds real good. 01 Z with Monsoon has 4" full range in back hatch area. The rest is correct.
