Ok guys I am new to this I have the Alpine cva1004 in my camaro and I want to add a sub I am leaning to the mtx thunder form because that is were I wanted to go does any one have this what do you think Good Or Bad???

 

Aslo do I need an amp???

 

i just installed my 10" MTX thunderform, and am incredibly happy with it..

yes u will need an amp, i have an MTX 200W RMS x 1 @ 4ohms (about what u need), as the sub is 250W RMS @ 4 ohms

watch out, though, the new mtx thunderforms come with a cheaper, 4500 series sub, get urs from ebay, they're $169.99, or $179.99 buy it now, and these are the 'old' model with the much better 6000 series sub... go to ebay, and mtxaudio.com and check out the diff...

also, see if u can luck out, i got mine from camarov6.com for $140 shipped, and it is about 3 months old, and in PERFECT condition (bought it from a reputable poster... and a general good guy), so see if u can swing a deal, and good luck, as i say, i LOVE mine (i'm not huge into bass and stuff, i just wanted to add more meat, and this is what i have accomplished)

 

3 differant companys make boxes for our camaros that fit snug in the rear quarter pannels. jl stealthbox, subthump.com and the mtx thunderform. i went with the jl. i think all are equal. i bought mine unloaded because i wanted to have my own sub. jl sell there box with a w3 wich i dont like. no matter what sub you chose, your gonna need an amp. depending on what amp or what sub you chose, they both have to compliment eachother. if you get a 300watt sub, get a 300watt amp, or close to it.

 

I have a POWERED Thunderform and I love it! It sounds a lot bigger than 10"!

The amp is inside the thunderform box so the install is soooo clean.
