Keyless entry remote
This is what works for my '96 SS:
1. Remove the 15A radio fuse.
2. Cycle the ignition key 3 times. DO NOT start or try to start to the car - turn it just enough so the dash lights up. This must be done quickly - all three cycles must be done in less than 5 seconds.
3. On the third cycle, leave the ignition ON. You should hear all the door locks and hatch unlock.
4. Get the first remote FOB and hold down the LOCK and UNLOCK buttoms for at least 15 seconds. When the car has learned the code sequence for that remote you will hear the door locks 'unlock' again. Release the buttons.
You can program more FOBS by holding down the LOCK/UNLOCK buttons on each one for 15~20 seconds (until the door locks 'click' again).
5. When your done programming, turn the igition off and re-install the Radio fuse. I usually reinstall the fuse before I turn the car off. GM reccommends turning the ignition off first. Either way will work.
