I need opinions about a JL Audio Stealth box

I am looking to upgrade the car stereo, and I stopped by the local car audio shop and they wanted $399.99 for a Stealth box. Is that price about right? Sounded kind of high to me?

Are these boxes worth it? I am looking for a setup that doesnt way much, has good tight solid base; not boooooooooom.

Any input would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Jeff

Thats WAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY too high...unless it is loaded with a 12" JL W7...you can find them a lot cheaper than that...at one time I found one for 90 bucks loaded with a MTX sub on ebay...granted that the sub sucks, but 90 bucks is cheap for the box and a sub...

Still seems a little high to me, especially if its not a W7 series...I would keep looking if I were you...or maybe even buy one used since they really can't get "damaged"

I got mine from a local place called HH Gregg, but crutchfield carries them.

They are a good box when fit with the right driver.

Also, do you have an aftermarket head unit yet? Or will you be adding this to the stock system?

I have a nice Pioneer CD unit, and some nice Pioneer 6 1/2" in the doors. The rear seat speakers are stock issue.

$399 is the recommended price. I stopped at a place that had a JL stealth with a w3 on hand, I offered him $300, and after 10 minutes of dealing I walked out of the store with it for that price. I am getting my car out of storage tonight and will hook up the box. I put it in a blazer when I first got it to test it out and it pounded like a ***** then. I can't wait to hear it in the Z.

Is that amp just pushing the sub; or is it powering everything? I love phosgate amps because they are small and powerful.
