Exclamation I need a car alarm!!

This will be the first year I'll be taking my WS6 to college, so I need a good car alarm. Do any of you know of an alarm that will page you or call your cell phone if it is triggered? I need to get the alarm in the next month. Thanks

I thought they were still on the Rs3?

www.directed.com Find a system that suits your pocket book and wants/needs. You cant go wrong with a DEI product.

in crutchfield there is a CrimeStopper secruity system that is only 69.99 and you can get a pager system for 129.99 that you hook up to it that pages you on your little alarm pager when your alarm is set off and tells you where it was set off at, hope this helps

Any idea how much the average install price is on one of those, say the viper 690dvx or whatever? And can you add an extra horn to a system pretty easily? I want to have the loudest alarm around so you can hear it for like 20 miles, because I just ordered about 4k in audio stuff.

Sorry about jacking your thread, but you are probably wondering about installation also.

i have 4k invested in my car audio to, what i did is called up my ins company and got a rider to protect my investment, its only 100 bucks more a year for 4k coverage, that way if it does get stolen your protected, i dont care what car alarm you have, if they want it they will take it, average cost of an alarm install is 200 bucks

clifford/dei; code alarm; excalibur/k9; alpine. All good alarms. from experience all can be trouble free depending on who installs. You can add a pager to any alarm if not twoway remote equipped. All are range limited meaning if you park on one side of the campus and are in class on the other you probably won't get a page. If you are in you house and you car is right outside their great.

Wow, only $100 more a year for that much coverage? Will they cover stuff like rims, hood, and gfx too? I didn't think they would do that kind of stuff.

i really dont know if they will, if you have lots of money in your car it wouldnt hurt to talk to your ins agent and see what they say, i think they only cover things in your car, but i could be wrong, and yes 100 bucks a year isnt much at all for peace of mind if something does happen to my stuff, you only get or at least i did 1000 bucks towards anything worth value if it got stolen, so i wanted more coverage and got the rider
