How should I hook this up?
 

I just got new subs and amp.

Subs are alpine DVC swr-1241 4 ohm each coil 2 of these
amp is audiobahn 4x50

I am thinking running subs in parallel for 2 ohms
Bridge 2 channels on the amp together for 2 ohms and run one sub off each side of the bridged amp.

How would you wire this to get the most out of it? TIA

Which Audiobahn amp are you using? Can it handle a 2ohm load when it is bridged? Not many amps can drive a 2ohm load when they are bridged.

Here's what you can do if the amp is only 4ohm stable when bridged...

Bridge 2 channels of the amplifier together.

Connect the voice coils on each sub in series. This will make each sub 8ohms.

Connect the now 8ohm subs to the amplifier in parallel. This will present the amp with a 4ohm load.

The other 2 channels of the amp can be used for front speakers.

Is there any way I can use all 4 channels? I have another RF 4 channel for the rest of the system.

If I series the subs to make 8 ohms each and bridge the amp for 2 channels I should end up with a 4 ohm load on the amp right?

The only way to use all 4 channels is to connect each voice coil to it's own channel.

What you need is a pair of subs with dual 2ohm voice coils. That way you could bridge the 4 channels down to 2 channels and wire the voice coils in series to make each sub 4ohms.

I would recommend getting a mono Class-D subwoofer amplifier actually. That and a pair of subs with dual 2ohm (or 8ohm) voice coils.

If the subs are dual 2ohm you would connect the VC's in series and the subs in parallel for a 2ohm load. With the dual 8ohm VC's you would wire the VC's in parallel and the subs in parallel for a 2ohm load.

I already have the DVC 4 + 4 subs so I need to make something work with those.

I would really like to use what I have for amps but if I need to sell them to get what I nedd than I will do it. I have read that I can't run the vc's on one sub off 2 different channels. If I could, I would give it a shot.

I would still recommend getting a Class-D subwoofer amp. You can wire your sub's VC's in series to make them each 8ohms and then wire them to the amp in parallel for a final 4ohm load. You can always sell your subs later on and replace them with dual 2ohm VC's to run the amp at 2ohms to get the most power out of it.
