HELP!! Having trouble on amp install
OK, my car is a 00 ss, I installed an aftermarket headunit a couple of days ago, today I,ve been trying to install my amp and an MTX thunderform, all the wires are ran the amp has power, I even tried a different set of RCAs but still nothing. I don't need the PAC with an aftermarket head unit do I? Should my remote wire be hooked to the head unit I'm using or the adapter harness? Sorry so long I'm just pulling my hair out trying to figure this out. Thanks for any help.

NO Should my remote wire be hooked to the head unit I'm using or the adapter harness? Run the remote lead directly from the HU to the amp. |
Thanks LS1 Rulz. Well, I've got the remote hooked to the head unit but still no sound. I tried using another amp but the power light on it just blinked, no sound. Anybody else have any suggestions, I really don't want to take this thing to a stereo shop but it's starting to look that way

check your ground, if its not grounded well it will sometimes flicker or not come on at all (my problem).

Well, if you have power to the amp, it sounds like a signal or speaker wire problem. If it's a multi-channel amp, make sure the RCAs are going to the right set of inputs. Also check your speaker wire leads to the terminal on the box and then from the terminal to the sub itself. Other than that, it's hard to tell without more info. Good luck.

what kind of head unit do u have? some headunits require you to activate the preouts.

Are you installing subs to the amp or the factory. If its factory you have to bypass the amp by the spare tire.
