Good 12" subs & question about the ohms?

I'm looking for some loud hard hitting bass with a descent sound quality at a good price (Under $150 IF POSSIBLE). I'm gunna be hooking the 2 12's up to a JBL BP1200.1 amp when I get this amp. I want to use the amp to its full potential when I want to show it off. I should prolly get subs that can run in 2 ohms. I was wondering if subs that can run 2 ohms would run in 4 ohms as well? It prolly can but I want to be sure. I know about the Alpine R subs that can run in 2 ohms and I have heard them but in the 4 ohm ones. I didn't like the way it sounded though bcuz they didn't hit good at all and had very little deepness to it. Could that be bcuz of the amp and the way it was tuned? Do they actually hit hard and deep?

I would like some opinions on some different subs and my questions. Thanx

It's completely dependant on the box.

And no, you cannot have a pair of subs that can be wired for a 2 ohm load but still be able to be wired for a 4 ohm load. No matter if you get dual 2 ohm, dual 4 ohm, single 2 or single 4......... it just doesn't work that way. The type r's are great sub. Is that $150 per sub? You will want the dual 2 ohm version with that amp. Check this deal out.

That's DUAL 2 ohm voice coils per sub. Just making sure you know that. Because if you get the wrong version, your gonna be pissed when you realize you can only get 600W from your 1200.1

Ok $150 per sub. The Elemental Designs K-series is a great subwoofer for the cash. And the Adire Audio Shiva is often overlooked but is a killer sub. I recommend either of these two or the Type-R.
