Electrical Problems

I've had the problem with the radio and windows stop working and read to check the BCM which I plan on doing. Recently my 2000 z28 has been doing all kinds of weird things. Sometimes it doesn't want to stay running and the battery amps get low when idling but go up when throttling. It spits and sputters with no power. One night the tach, fuel gauge, and oil pressure gauges would stop and start working as well as my anti-slip. Battery is only a couple months old and the alternator checks fine. Can all of this be the BCM or is it more widespread?

Re: Electrical Problems

if your battery terminals are good, I would get the battery tested. I had a bad cell in a sealed battery and the car did exactly like yours. I spent the longest time checking connections, alternator, bcm, cables, ignition switch... I had the battery tested and it passed, but the problem persisted until I finaly just swapped out the battery with the one in my chevelle. I believe there was an intermitant short internally.

Re: Electrical Problems

I thought the same thing. The battery passed. It turned out to be a shorted ground and my starter. Now I have to figure out why when I get on it, it bogs down before taking off and shifts weird. Other times it runs like a champ. The injectors and intake have been clean, but it didn't do anything. Thanks for your replies.
