Dual XD7600 cd player

I'm well aware that there are better cd players available, but does anyone have any experience with this cd player? I'm wanting to hook an ipod up to it and am just wondering what I'd need.

Thanks!

Re: Dual XD7600 cd player

I wasn't aware that Dual was in the car audio business now. Since they are a relative new-comer to car audio I think I would pass on it and go with a well established brand like Alpine or Kenwood for instance.

Thanks but I'm wanting to know who, if anyone, has had first hand experience with this head unit and what all i'd need to hook my ipod up to it.

Do you already own the HU then?

I took a look at it on Crutchfield and from what I read it looks like it comes with whatever you need to connect your iPod. All you need to do is supply the iPod and a place to mount the interface. Under the dash, in the glove box or inside the center console would probably be a good place for it.

Re: Dual XD7600 cd player

Well I found out I'm getting it as a gift and I'm not much of one for dissapointing the person buying if you catch my drift I saw that it came with the little hookup for an mp3 player but wasn't real sure whether or not I'd need something else. I've been reading a few threads here and saw that some had to get that small box that attached to the back of the cd player. (I apologize for my ignorance on technical terms) They needed that small piece in order for the mp3 player to hook up to their head unit.

Gotcha! Yeah I know what you mean. It kinda sucks when someone else is buying something for you when you'd really rather make the choice yourself. Oh well, what can you do?

That sucks. I have installed that model in a few cars at work. The motor for the faceplate is junk. I've seen quite a few come back for that very reason.

I have it installed and it looks and plays great! I'm very surprised.
