Post Double Din in TA

Just bought a CVA-1005 and a DVA-5205. Wondering how hard it would be to refabricate the dash to make them both fit in the factory 1.5 din opening. I know that DrMilhouse pulled this off in his camaro. DrMilhouse--what did u do? Did u cut the plate that the factory radio sits on? How did u bolt the new stuff in there? Any help would be appreciated.

I am currently undergoing a process to put double din in my 2000 camaro. Its not too hard really, the biggest issue is the air duct which will casue my to install my top unit on an angle if i dont re-structure the duct. Basically you need a metal plate that you can cut to the proper shape with proper placements for each unit. You can make the plate to secure where the factory unit was secured. You will also have to re-sculpture your stereo frame. I am moving my foglight/ARS switch, but i guess you could do something with the a/c controls. If you did that you may be able to avoid the upper air duct all together.
I am still in the middle of the project, its going slow right now, but i could let you know how it goes.
