Bose stock radio problem

Hello All !

This looks like a great forum and I am glad to be here. I am having an issue with mt 1994 Z28. It has 28k original miles and has always been well taken care of.
I disconnect the battery when I am not using it and suddenly have a problem with the radio. It is the original Bose and after about 7 minutes after starting the volume just goes to zero. The radio still plays, or looks like it but there is no sound. The volume level indicator just goes back to the first one/bar.

Any ideas ??

*Absolute shot in the dark*

Here's my take on it. You have power, and I'm assuming you haven't modified any wiring anywhere. I'm going to assume all of the connections are still clean and secure.

Question: With the volume up, and music playing, after this 7 minutes, does the volume drop "as if someone actually turned the volume down" ? I.E. is it a fast drop in volume (over 1-2 seconds) or is it a complete and instant on/off for the volume?

*My best guess* would be that there may be a loose solder point somewhere inside the radio. I've had a similar problem on a home stereo piece of equipment. It was just old, and the thermal flexing over time made the connection unreliable.

I have no evidence to suggest I am correct, but it's my two pennies to the situation.
